My left nipple is dark and has small growths on top and bottom of it and it itches occassionally, it is a purplish color and the aereola is a brownish color, different from the right side, the right side is tender as well but the left is different.

Guide

Hello Anonymous,

You need to be examined by your primary care physician or gynecologist. The causes of difference in color, small growths and itching can be determined by your doctor, who knows your medical history, can examine your breasts and order any necessary test.

I did go to my PCP and he doesn't know what it is, he said it was a mystery to him, and I did go have a mammogram and that doc said that I was negative for cancer and told me to talk to my doctor. so I have done so and no answers, so was hoping someone else might be able to shed some light on my situation.
but thanks for the advice.

Hello nano72701,

Thankfully the mammogram was negative for cancer. But, not having a reason for the discoloration and discomfort must be frustrating.

My next suggestion would be to see a gynecologist, who would have a better knowledge of breast conditions or a dermatologist.

Hi. I have had the same itching arond the nipple, accomoanied with sharp occasional shooting pains. The skin of the breast also burnt if i scratched it. My GP gave me a cortsione cream which seems to have helped the itching. I will also be waiting for my next cycel to see if it is hormonally linked. Good that you had the mamo and was clear. Regards.
