How does implantation bleeding look like, and when does it occur? I have been searching in the internet saying that it looks like period but lighter and shorter. What does lighter mean? Does it mean that i still have to wear napkin? And can u still get pregnant having period?

Implantation bleeding is something that many women assume that they will experience, but generally doctors believe that it is the exception not the rule. Knowing this, you probably shouldn't watch for implantation bleeding. Because you know that it does happen every so often you also do not need to be alarmed if you do experience it!

Hi Anonymous-
I assume you mean you think you are pregnant and are still spotting?
By lighter, usually that means not as heavy bleeding, like still some bleeding but not as much or not as many pads, etc. We have a good comprehensive answer to this question from a prior Ask: https://www.empowher.com/community/ask/implantation-bleeding-or-menstruation
A great source of information on pregnancy from beginning to end is the National Institutes of Health: http://www.nichd.nih.gov/health/topics/pregnancy.cfm
I hope this helps you. Good luck.
