Hello Anonymous,

The top number is the systolic pressure. It refers to the amount of pressure in your arteries during contraction of your heart muscle.

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER.

Diastolic blood pressure (the lower number) — indicates how much pressure your blood is exerting against your artery walls while the heart is resting between beats.

Regards,
Maryann
