What would cause the LUNELA TO ERODE?

I took my 5yr. old to the doctor ,on several fingernails the Lunela (moon shaped part) is eroding.The doctor was unsure and prescribed an antibiotic for fungal infections.Her nails are not ridged , lifting , or discolored.She is not a nail biter nor has there been any trauma.She did have a fever 3 weeks prior.Please help find what the issue could be.

Welcome to EmpowHER. It might have been due to an infection or she might had a trauma to the nail. It's best to follow the prescribed medication the doctor suggested to avoid any other complications.
