My period normal pays me a monthly visit every 2nd to last week a month. But for the last 2 months i have been late, the 1st time i was a week late, then the 2nd month i was 4 days late. Normally my periods start really really heavy the get lighter over the 6 days im on for, but lately they come on medium for a couple days then goes light to spotting. I have reguarl (terrible spelling) unprotected sex with my boyfriend as on the pill. I have also been getting headaches on and off most days some days worse than others, i feel sick sometimes but never actually thrown up, get tired alot quicker, emotional (my friends find that weird), feeling more hungry and feel the need to want raw onion and strawberry milkshake! I have been getting pretty spotty as well which i dont normally get unless im due on, but this is all month round. Hot and cold flushes to... Could someone please give me an answer as im to scared and worried to go to my mum :/ also if it helps im only 18...

Hi hevaatrevaa, GYN is short for gynecologist. Do you have anyone close to talk to? It be best to see a gynecologist and explain the whole issue. You're 18 so you're old enough to go to the GYN on your own. Do you have other medical issues bothering you? I also keep so much things to myself I don't have anyone to talk to about it and I'm 28. I usually deal with everything myself and things that are personal I kept them all being under confidentiality. Let me know if their is anything else bothering you and I'll be glad to give you more advice.

Whats a GYN? I generally dont think i could go to my mum about this, shes very hard to talk to with personal problems, i keep alot to myself.

Hi hevaatrevaa, I would say since you had unprotected sex first thing to do is get a pregnancy test to be sure what's going on. If you could really handle it on your own to go to the GYN regarding this issue go on your own see how far you can handle it if not you would need your mother to help you out.

Good Luck,

Hello hevaatrevaa,

It is not unusual for your menstrual cycle to vary slightly from month to month. Some young women experience this during the early years of menstruation. Have you had your period for a number of years?

I am confused, are you taking birth control pills? You mention having unprotected sex, yet refer to "as on the pill."

I am concerned that you are not able to talk with your mother about your health. With your various symptoms, it may be necessary to schedule an appointment with your family doctor or a gynecologist. You will need to make your mother aware of this, unless you can afford to see the physician on your own.
