I've had normal periods for as long as I can remember, but the last 2 months, my period has been 2 days late, and this month its abnormally light. I do have a boyfriend, and we haven't had sex in 2 weeks. Our sex is always protected with a condom, so I don't believe I'm pregnant. I'm also not experiencing any pregnancy symptoms, so I have a hard time believing I am pregnant. I have pretty bad anxiety, and have started college recently. Could this be why my period is so light this month? From stress and anxious nerves? My boyfriend and I are kind of worried that it could be something worse. Thank you!

Hello Anonymous,
A woman's menstrual cycle is regulated by a fine balance of hormones. It is quite possible that you have an imbalance of thyroid or pituitary hormones. If your period does not return to a normal flow, I suggest you schedule an appointment with your physician.
