Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for reaching out to us for advice.

Since you have had a longer period in the past, a period that only lasted 2-3 days might be cause for concern. This is something that your doctor needs to know.

Was the bleeding similar to the flow you normally experience? Was it more like spotting?
How late was your period? Do you use any type of protection or are you taking birth control pills?

Many birth control pills might cause a shorter period.

Being under a great deal of stress is a very common reason why women might have a 3 day period when they are accustomed to having longer ones.

The bleeding wasn't normal it was lighter then usual and no I'm not o any birth control or using any protection. My period was late almost a week about 5 or 6 days if I count it right could that mean I might be pregnant? I haven't mentioned it to anyone yet so I haven't taken a test to be sure. Thank you for answering this.

Hello pikachu17,

Okay, take a home pregnancy. Buy a name brand product, check the expiration date, read and follow the directions carefully. Most importantly, test in the morning and use the first urine of the day.

Keep us updated.
