I have severe allergies and have suffered from asthma since I was little. The past few years my allergies have gotten tons better but my asthma still kicks in. It is frustrating because it prevents me from getting the most out of my cardio exercise. I started doing yoga and noticed that the breathing I learned there really helped my asthma. I no longer had problems breathing in yoga. Now, when I exercise I focus on that deep breathing through my nose. I work really hard to make sure I am filling my lungs up with air and exhaling deeply to get the stale air out of my lungs, or so my yoga instructor says. I just wanted to share my story because I was sick of taking medicine for my asthma and I think I found a lifelong way to naturally help combat it by focusing on my breathing and certain techniques.

Hi I'm a yoga enthusiast too. It did wonders not just on my physical but with mental and emotional well being as well. I was inspired by a friend of mine named Ada Hung, a yoga enthusiast too, to take yoga classes. Ada has an interesting story too about how yoga changed her life. If you are interested you can read it here: http://balinisports.com/balini-by-ada/.
Glad to have read your post.
