i suffer from ATN after a root canal infection. i have had my sinus cleaned out as the doctors hoped that would solve the problem. i had 5 weeks of very little pain but bang I had a bad sinus infection. MY ATN flared up and then GPN set in which appears to be upsetting m heart-palpitations.
i am one of the lucky ones as so far i have stayed off the normal drugs as i saw what it did to my mother in law who has full blown AN. Natural remedies are my way of dealing with the pain.

Hi Liz,
Thank you for your question and welcome to EmpowHer. Acute tubular necrosis or (ATN) is caused when there is a lack of oxygen to the kidneys, usually during surgeries, etc.
In most cases, this is reversible. Accoridng to Medicine Net, Treatment can include:
•Identifying and treating the underlying cause of the problem
•Restricting fluid intake to a volume equal to the volume of urine produced
•Restricting substances normally removed by the kidneys (such as protein, sodium, potassium) to minimize their buildup in the body
•Taking medications to help control potassium levels in the bloodstream
•Taking water pills (diuretics) to increase fluid removal from the kidney
You indicated that you are having pain? What sort of pain are you still having and where? Your sinuses are no longer an issue, is this correct?
Thanks for any updates and good luck.
