You may be surprised to know that the best remedy for thin, discolored eyelashes and eyebrows is castor oil. It was widely popular and highly effective in Ancient Greece and has remained a strong natural remedy to this day.
These days when women spend thousands of dollars on cosmetics that doesn’t bring any result, Castor oil is a real catch, both in terms of efficiency and price. So what is so special about castor oil that makes it a number one remedy for weak eyelashes?
Well, it has quite a simple composition; firstly it has vitamin E, then minerals and proteins that aren’t only useful for hair but for the human body as a whole. And the last secret weapon is fatty acids which speed up the healing process.
All these elements taken together work as a powerful remedy that strengthens eyelashes or eyebrows and makes them more resistant to negative environmental effects.
How exactly does castor oil work? Since castor oil has deep penetrating power, it cures hair from the inside, delivering visible effect after short-term use. If eyelashes or hair have split ends, castor oil works as a glue, sticking the surface of the damaged hair together. It also influences hair is about to grow. Thus hair structure improves, gets stronger and darker in color. Another bonus quality of castor oil is that it helps fight wrinkles. Through moisturizing and nourishing thin skin under eyes, so-called “crows feet” get less noticeable.
However, without proper and correct usage castor oil may not bring the desired results. Below are several simple steps on how to apply castor oil:
• Needless to say, any oil or cream should be applied on an absolutely clean face. So it's necessary to remove all makeup from eyes and eyelashes
• A mascara wand serves as a perfect applicator to evenly spread castor oil over your eyelashes or eyebrows. But make sure that it is perfectly cleaned to remove all existing bacteria and dirt
• Apply thin layer of oil to eyebrows or eyelashes but keep it from eyes;
• Leave castor oil for the whole night and remove it in the morning before putting on makeup.
After regular usage, you will see your eyelashes and eyebrows strengthen.
Still, even such a nutrient-packed oil can cause an allergic reaction. That’s why doctors recommend that it should be tested on your skin before you apply it to eyelashes and eyebrows. If there is rash or even slight reddening, replace castor oil with burdock root oil.
With castor oil, long and strong eyelashes are no longer a dream. Armed with patience, you will soon achieve a stunning result.

Hello LizTaylor,
Who knew! I found this interesting and plan to give castor oil a try on my eyebrows. They are very thin as a result of chemotherapy and radiation therapy, and have failed to grow back in. My case may be different, but will give it a try.
Regard,
