I'm 56 yrs old and for the past few years I will not have any period for 8 or 9 months then I will bleed constantly for a few months, sometimes heavy, sometimes normal then back to no bleeding for 8 or 9 months. I just had a Fsh test result of 87.5. Am I in menopause or still peri-menopause with this Fsh result?

Hello and welcome to EmpowHer,
Whether you are in menopause or not, prolonged bleeding even for a few weeks is dangerous. Bleeding for months is even more dangerous!
Possible causes include
-cancer
-disfunction of the ovaries
-uterine fibroids, cysts, or polyps
-Adenomyosis
-bleeding disorders
I strongly suggest that your doctor be as thorough as possible when exploring all the possible causes. You can also become anemic from prolonged bleeding. So, be sure to be tested be anemia as well.

I have been to see a dr and be just been tested and I'm not anemic. My insurgence company denied an MRI so I'm looking into paying for that test myself. But my original question still stands.

The process of menopause does not reverse. It does not start and then stop. So, the simple answer would be: yes, you are still going through menopause.
