Hi everyone, I got a situation here. My period was suppose to come on 4-17-09. I was 4 days late so it came on 4-22-09. When it finally came on, it stayed on 2 days and thats not normal for me. My period usually comes on between 26-28 days. Before it came on, i thought I was having early pregnancy symptoms. I had all the signs, lower abdominal pains, lower back pains, sore breast, headaches, vomitting, etc. I have a 6 year old, but its been so long, i just forgot how it feels until then. Ok, is there still a possiblilty i could be pregnant?

Condoms, when used consistently and correctly, are up to 99% effective at preventing pregnancy. Be sure to follow the instructions that come with the condoms, and practice using them before the actual sex act.
Whenever you have sex, there is a possibility of pregnant. Birth control can fail, for instance. The only 100% effective way to not become pregnant is to not have sex.

I realize this is old as well but for people that are looking for some information on these aspects in the future.I am here to tell you that now I am 31 years old, however when I was pregnant with my son. I came on 2x in the same month. The next month 1 day late, I still got my period only to find out a month later that I was pregnant, so there is a chance you could still be pregnant, and thats from my personal experience and I agree like most folks said everyones body is different just each pregnancy..

Hey Natahsha, this is exactally what is happening to me. Last month i came on twice, and this month I was 4 days late but when I did come on it only lasted three days. However I did take a pregnancy test on day 3 of missed period and it was negative.

Hello charmjo321,
Thank you so much for visiting the website and for posting your question here for us. I agree that many of the symptoms you describe do sound like early pregnancy, especially the vomiting. I have had many friends tell me they thought they were having really bad PMSes, only to find out they were pregnant.
I have heard of women spotting a bit when newly pregnant. Buy like alisonb said above it might just have been a short period, especially if the vomiting you were having was caused by a bug or something. I believe illness can throw off your period.
What I would do if it were me is to buy a home pregnancy test just to see if you might be pregnant, and then to also call your OB/GYN to check in and describe what happened. They should have a nurse who can return your call and advise you on what might be going on. We know our bodies better than anyone and if you know that this is unusual for you, then it's definitely worth following your gut instinct and following up on it.
Please post again to let us know how you are doing. Best in health, Michelle

Do you still have any of the pregnancy/periodsymptoms that you were talking about earlier?
And, if your bleeding started normal on 1st day, lighter 2nd day, then Friday was gone...is that more like 3 days?
I wouldn't worry about if your period was 2 or 3 days, it most likely was just a short period. However, a quick call to your doctor (is there "nurse line" you can call?) might help you if you are concerned too!
Did you have unprotected sex during one of your more fertile days (if you are keeping track of periods and possible ovulation)?
oh--and any more stress in your life than usual? Any new medications? A lot of things can make our periods irregular.

You are giving uncertain information. it is still possible she can be pregnant it does happen. Maybe not in your world, but here on earth, women can get what seems like their period on time every month and still deliver a healthy baby in 9 months. My best friend thought she was pregnant when her period was two days late, then it arrived on the third day and stopped the forth day. She thought that because she bled, it was her period and she assumed she wasn't pregnant. To her surprise two months later, after her period came normally after that one-day episode, she found out she was almost 3 1/2 months pregnant. But the due date that the doctors gave her was way off because she delivered her daughter almost a month after the original date they gave her. She went to her gyno and the er and all the dates were off

I think the way you answer is pretty mean. If you are sick of tired of people asking this kind of questions don't bother answer them.

i just wanted to agree with you on the fact that when i first came across this responce, i too, thought before i even read your notes that she sounded rude. and agree with everything you said with your two comments. lol..... in fact- i laughed when i was reading that ladies response to the girls questions because she sounded like she did not have an open minded view on life..... and i have known many woman that have had a "periods" their whole entire pregnancy. for what reason.. i dont know... some woman i new had it for a few months and didnt know she was prego.... some six months.... im not saying that every woman bleeds when they are prego but i do know alot of woman that have experienced such things. i am trying to conceive and it drives me nuts every month to wonder if i findly got pregnant or not...
