The National Osteoporosis Foundation (NOF), has launched a revised version of its brochure Hormones and Healthy Bones: Helping Midlife Women Make Better Choices for a Healthy Future.
The revised brochure helps midlife women make better choices for a healthy future in a new interactive format with clickable links and navigation icons. Midlife women are the current baby boomers, including those who are nearing menopause, as well as those who have already reached menopause.
Women are understandably confused about the safety of hormones. They are regularly bombarded with information about hormone use. Hormones and Healthy Bones discusses the role of estrogen and the changes that happen with menopause. It helps women understand osteoporosis, what increases their chance of getting it and how they can protect their bones.
Hormones and Healthy Bones empowers women to learn about the risks and benefits of estrogen therapy and hormone therapy, make healthy lifestyle choices to help protect their bones and ask the right questions during their visits with their healthcare providers.
