Before getting my gall bladder removed I was miserable with GERD and acid reflux and could not lay down without dicomfort at night. After it got removed, the symptoms continue but not as frequently. Then I read somewhere that a natural, simple and inexpensive drink would help. I tried it along with some modifications to my diet (elimintated gluten filled foods that tend to ferment) and the symptoms disappeared. They only come back when I eat gluten. So here is the recipe:

1 TBSP desert honey
1/4 tsp baking soda
8 oz. of water.
If your acid reflux gets you a feeling of a raw throat this will definately sooth it. Drink plenty of water too, my doctor told me that water cuts the acidity of the regurgitated foods.

Thanks for coming to EmpowHer.com to ask us a question.
I suffered from acid reflux. I was able to get it under control by diet and getting my hormones balanced.
There are certain foods you should stay away from. Mayonnaise, spicy foods, chocolate, caffeine etc...This is the short list of what foods you should stay away from.
There can be other causes too. You should go to your doctor and get checked. Just make sure there's nothing else going on with you.
What worked for me the best and still does. These wonderful bio enzymes that my girl friend, Missy, told me to try.
You chew them before and after meals. These are all natural and can be chewed anytime you feel you need them.
If you're interested in the name of the bio enzymes. I'm happy to tell you which one I use.
Anyone else ever tried bio enzymes? Do you like one brand over another?
Best in health,
Michelle
