This list saved me and my son! I want to help you.
This is a short list of adaptable jobs for moms, but won’t be a fit for all of them. These won’t appeal to moms who are taking time out from working as a realtor, lawyer, accountant, or product manager. These are for those that want to make some money while staying at home to take care of the little ones. Then there are stay at home moms, who wish to work while their young kids are taking a nap, in school, or after their bedtime.
There are plenty of jobs out there that are flexible enough to fit in with any schedule.
1.Medical Transcribing
This job entails transcribing medications, health records, reports, and procedures from home. The duties may also include evaluating records against audio files to certify accuracy and attention to detail. A computer and an Internet connection are required to do this work.
2. Homework Tutoring
This is for moms who have a background in teaching and is an excellent way to make extra money. Try to tap into a community with high incomes and set a price of at least $35 an hour to help students with their homework. If possible, get a group of kids together for the homework period and give a discount by charging $30 per family. That’s a lot of money for an hour’s work that can take place while the baby’s napping.
3. Data and Research
This job requires the skills of research and data entry. The work consists of assisting with the research work of collecting and coding the data along with managing administrative duties. This is one of the most sought after jobs for moms who are at home. An Internet connection and computer are required.
4. Wedding Website Consultant
This job entails establishing gift registries for the engaged couple and maintaining a relationship with them. It will also require expertise on the products to assist them in making their registry, and prior retail experience helps. There may be other duties involved, so the person needs strong organizational and communication skills. Good computer skills are also a requirement along with a connection to the Internet.
5. Specialized office work
There are several freelance websites offering work to be done on a computer. It could be a project using PowerPoint or Photoshop or data entry. It can involve proofreading, writing, and other office skills. There are always jobs available, and a lot of them are short term so moms can work when they have the time. It’s a good idea to exercise the brain when taking on this kind of work as it prepares moms for getting back in the working mode. There are websites to challenge and Lumosity.com is just one.
6. Writing Services
If you are good with writing and you are the post-graduate student, this is the best work for you. Such services have time-tested experienced writers on their team. They are ready to help you with essays, term paper, research paper, book review or report, thesis, and more. They claim to be able to cover any subject and offer free revisions. So you need to be really smart and intelligent person to become one of their workers.
7. Daycare at home
This is a great job for stay at home moms because they are already experienced in taking care of their children. It’s good for the mom to take a couple of kids close to the same age as hers unless it’s a baby! The toys are already there, lunch is already being fixed, naps times are set, so it’s easy to begin. Make sure the kids are picked up on time and don’t keep a child if they don’t fit in. The only thing that changes is that mom has a couple more kids to watch.
8. Recipe Developer
This is a great job for moms who love to cook and are excellent at it. There are many websites needing people to test their recipes, or re-test them, and perfect them for publication. This is a job that can offer as much work as a mom wants to do. There are also companies that send a package of non-perishable food, along with a recipe, and a check to buy the other items that are needed. Mom follows the method and then takes a photo to send back to the company along with her critique of the dish.
These are just a few of the choices available so it should be easy to find one that fits with you. Some pay good money and some not so much but there is something for every mom out there. All she has to do is look for it!
