Tips for Managing Dental Emergencies
There’s no doubt that, throughout the world, every family has some dental disease. When anyone is affected with any dental disease, then they can only think about what will cure the disease. There are many people who haven’t the first idea of how to prevent a worsening condition when they face a dental problem. Therefore, they couldn’t take any good initial treatment, and the normal disease turns serious. It is necessary to know about managing dental emergencies. Below, we’ll discuss how to manage some dental emergencies.
Toothache
If you are affected by toothache, don’t apply any painkiller on the gum because the gum may burn from the medicine. Just rinse your mouth with warm water. Without any dentist’s advice, don’t take any medicine. You can floss to try to help. If your toothache can’t be stopped, then you should contact your dentist as soon as possible. A toothache may signal other serious diseases. Regularly cleaning your teeth can protect from toothache.
Broken Tooth
If your tooth breaks, you should contact your dentist immediately. Put the broken tooth in milk and bring it to the dentist with you. You can apply cold compress at the injured place to reduce swelling and pain.
Bitten Lip or Tongue
If you accidentally bite your lip or tongue badly, wipe the place with an antiseptic liquid. You can keep a piece of ice on the bite to minimize swelling and pain. If bleeding is not stopped, then you should contact your dentist for further treatment.
Broken Jaw
If you feel that your jaw is broken, apply cold compress to relieve pain and swelling. You should immediately go to the dentist or emergency room at the nearest clinic or hospital.
Knocked-out Tooth
When you play football, there is often an accident impact between the players. Sometime someone’s tooth is knocked out. This can happen anywhere. Don’t scrub the place or tooth and don’t remove the tissue that’s with the tooth. Don’t throw the tooth away. Instead, keep it in milk and go to dentist or emergency room nearest clinic with the knocked-out tooth.
Loosened Tooth
If you feel that one of your teeth is loose, you shouldn’t shake it more with your finger. Call your dentist for advice and possibly an appointment before doing anything irreversible. If your child has a loose tooth and is in the process of losing them, you can eventually pull it out yourself.
Tooth Feeling Sensitive
Sensitive teeth is a common problem for a huge number of people. It happens when they eat sugary, hot, or cold food. If this happens, you should stop eating the food that irritates your teeth. You can rinse with warm water in to your mouth, then spit the water out. There are several toothpastes made for sensitive teeth on the market. If you feel worse, you should go to your dentist for proper treatment.
In the case of an accident or any dental problem, you should go to your dentist if you have no knowledge of primary treatment. Never use unknown medicine or apply anything you’re unsure about.
