I am currently dealing with a fibroid that is pushing on my bladder when I sleep. So, when I lay down at night, the pressure of the fibroid on my bladder makes me need to get up and go to the bathroom -- constantly. I am currently scheduled for fibroid surgery, but until then I am dealing with surviving on very little sleep.
My saving grace through all of this is the supplements that I am taking. My naturopath has put me on a mix of COQ10, Resveratrol and D-Ribose. They are supposed to improve energy and aide in weight loss (albeit slowly). I have lost a couple of pounds, but the best part about these supplements is the energy. I have more energy now than I have had in years. I feel like my old self & am amazed how well I am able to function on very little sleep. I do not do well with any types of stimulants, but these supplements do not give me any side-effects. These are not "radical" supplements. For example one supplement is made from grapes. They are really helping me get through the day right now, and I will continue to use them even after my surgery!

I don't have the doses with me, but I'd rather not give that out since this regimen should be under the care of a doctor. I was given referrals to this doctor. No, my insurance does not cover naturopathic services:(.

Anon, I also am sorry to hear about your sleep deprivation, but I am very interested in your experiences with your naturopath. What strengths are your supplements? And how did you go about finding your naturopath? I know many people are becoming interested in finding naturopaths, including me. But it's somewhat hard to know where to start unless you have a friend who already sees one. And does medical insurance cover your naturopath?

I'm so sorry you have to try to function with so little sleep and hope your forthcoming surgery goes well. It's great that the supplements your naturopath gave you are working well for you. My DH also used to take COQ10, among other supplements, our naturopath prescribed for him when he was trying to deal with heavy work-related stress a few years back. Please stay in touch with us and update your situation.
