I am 49 years old and had my first insertion of Sottopelle 4 weeks ago. Life has changed! I had a hysterectomy 10 years ago and have been suffering with dramatically diminished sex since then along with hot flashes as I still have one ovary. I previously used patches with side effects that included very tender breasts, bloating, weight gain. A friend told me about Sottopelle and loved it. I live in Rancho Mirage, CA where they have a clinic. Well, I think the only person that loves Sottopelle more than me is my husband! No more mood swings and dramatically increased sex drive! No hot flashes, no tenderness, more energy. The cost is pricey ($550 for my first insertion)... but well worth it! I feel like myself again! I have not experienced even one side effect that is negative! I definitely recommend it!

I am 48 years old and have been using the pellets almost a year now and would be lost without them. I hadn't been feeling well for years. I had started having signs of menopause at 37. After the fist 3 weeks I used them, I felt like a different person. I felt like I had lived the last 10 years of my life in a fog. I had actually started using the creams several years earlier, but seemed to have built up an immunity to them. They made me feel a little better, but nothing like this. I am a happy, energetic, sexual wife again, and I literally feel it saved my marriage. I have to travel 3 hours to get them and have had some bleeding issues to deal with, but nothing that would prevent me from using them and feeling like I did before.

Wow..i was beginning to think i was the only one with some of these side effects. Actually i can handle the hair on my lip and face,a few pimples,the spike of RAWR from the pellet inserts at first.(been getting the pellets for over a year now)I have all my female parts.Im 51 and was diagnosed with premature menopause 4 months after having my only child at 34.(Took prempro for years so i had no period). I take 200mg of progesterone for 12 days 4 times a year..having a period every 3 months i could handle that..one time last year had a little breakthrough bleeding one time then not again My main problem now is 2 1/2 months ago i had breakthrough bleeding just like a period for a few days and last month the same way..also cramped but i could handle it but i wasnt suppose to be having a period those months. So i called my obgyn..went in..had a vag ultrasound..showed a few fibroid tumors which he said probably been there for years and maybe the bleeding is coming from those..in 3 weeks im having a endometr biopsy just to make sure not cancerous..even though he said most all the time are benign. Just took the progesterone for 12 days this month..on the 9th day started my period..just like a heavy period...but past few days felt awful,fatigue,cold,sleepy,severe crams that rarely let up.He ask if i was passing clots..i dont guess i am..its been years since i had periods since i took the prempro..i dont even know what a normal period was actually..all i know is im having breakthrough bleeding and its not lightly and it last for a few days then i spotted then it stopped.. then when i have the period i should im feeling exhausted and was in the bed the past weekend most all weekend. I just wish i knew what to do..i actually think its a enbalance of the estrogen or progesterone somehow...i just dont know. he actually told me to just play with the progesterone and take it everyday if i want to if i thought that would help me stop bleeding. :o I really think maybe some doctors just dont know what to do about all this breakthrough bleeding women are having from the pellet/progesterone treatment. Other than that i have to say the pellets gave me back my life that i lost so many young years of raising my child. Just thankful i have hope now..just praying to get this breakthrough bleeding under control. I love the pellets just hate the breakthrough bleeding thats just started for me july and august. Seems that so many women are having the breakthrough bleeding and the Drs just dont have the answers.

yah, i had a partial hyster about 3 yrs ago from fibroids, which caused severe bleeding. So I know they can and do cause bleeding. Also I am getting ready to get my first pellets next wk. and in the info [sottopelle] it says if you have your uterus, it can increase the growth of fibroids. So you will have to out weigh the pros & cons for yourself. I couldnt handle the bleeding I was having because it was so severe, and I became very anemic, I couldnt leave the house without a diaper,tampon and pad all at once, for me that is no way to live, so I opted for the surgery. But now am having the unplesentness of wieght gain,moodiness, foggy headed, nite sweats, hot flashes etc.... that also is no way to live....so am going to give the pellets a try.....wish you the best, truly!!! us women have hard roads to walk, we need to support one another when we can

That is great the pellets work for you. What type of bleeding issues have you had? Is that a normal reaction/side effect? Your experience may help someone else interested in trying it out. Thanks for your comment and for being a part of the EmpowHer community.

Hello All,
August 24, 2010 - 9:14amA quick update as to how I am progressing. here is my first msg - which was under anonymous (sorry):
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have suffered with hot fashes however the lack of enrgy is mind-boggling, really. My thinking is confused and my temperment is way off. I researched the bio-identical hormone replacement area and found it to be a good choice for me. I just returned from my doctor yesterday. I had 10 of E and 112 T inserted. He numbed the area and there was NO discomfort at all... and I have a VERY low pain threshold In two weeks I should see an improvement in sleeping and hot flashes. In 4-5 weeks, mental clarity and mood changes. I have to take Prometrium for the first ten days of each month. I will be happy to let you all know how I make out with this treatment.
UPDATE:
I had the pellets inserted July 27th. I was told to take Premarin (100) for the first ten days of the month. I did get a period at the end of this time, like clockwork, which lasted about 4-5 days, minor cramps, no problems. My night sweats have stopped completely, my hot flashes have stopped completely, my libido is way up (yay!). I do sleep much, much better, which makes my attitiude improved, of course. Now, the mental clarity is supposed to be improved - hard to tell - still a bit foggy there, however I was told it would take awhile...like 5 weeks. There is a bit of a bloated feeling however along with my stomach botherng me - - so I am drinking more water and cutting down on salt. I go for another appointment 9/28.
I really think it's important to rule OUT other causes of problems. Before starting with SottoPelle, I cleared everything with my GYN - normal physical, pap, mammogram. Also cleared it with the cardiologist. Started the Bio-identical hormones, but still have to have everything checked out by the gastro people. Have an exam early September just to rule things like gastritis, irritable bowel, etc out. Now, if you have a good insurance, this is a good idea. I am not a hypochondriac however I think it's crucial that everybody is on the same page. You don't want to end up on prozac if it's hormone related, right? Will let you know the progress as time goes on....Deborah
Deborah,
Thank you so much for the update! It really helps to know when a treatment is successful.
I am happy to hear that you are doing so well, and look forward to another update after your 9/28 appointment!
Take care!
Hi Janna47,
August 20, 2010 - 9:01amThank you for your post, and for finding EmpowHER.
I have always (like you) been a proponent of "doing what you need to" to be present in your life. If cutting back in one area so you can budget for a $100 monthly treatment works, then do it. I agree that money should never come before your health.
There are several groups on the EmpowHER website that may also be helpful to you, particularly the menopause and depression groups. Join up, and post a thread, or comment and get connected with women going through what you are experiencing. It can be very therapeutic. Check it out!
Good luck with your condition and let us know how you are doing.
PS...How do we know that those who post anonymously with horrible results aren't just lobbyists trying to dissuade women from using these natural products rather than synthetics? I'm not going to take anyone's advice who can't even identify themselves. I'd like to thank those of you who do and have encouraged meand others on this site. You have given me/others hope when things seem very hopeless.
