At the beginning of the year, I decided to get serious about regular exercise. You know, the kind you do more than once every six months. I made a goal to work out four days a week. My workouts are a combination of cardio and strength training.
The first week, it was hard. I was sore, I was worn out, and I was not in love with it. Miraculously, I started the second week with a different attitude. I started to notice my muscles feeling firmer, my posture improved, and my clothes started fitting better. The movement brought on a desire for more movement. I started to crave that exhilarating feeling that only comes from a good sweat. I think I'm hooked.
Sure, I may have to talk myself into getting started but once I'm moving, I feel powerful. My family has noticed the new spring in my step and I find my stress levels reducing daily. It's all very exciting. I'm beginning to think there might really be something to this whole exercise thing.
