One thing that has helped me calm down my vulvodynia is to use 40% zinc oxide in Desitin diaper rash cream. Do not use generics, as they add ingredients that make me burn. Also, I find I need to drink lots of water and avoid beans and peanut butter (I think my bladder is contributing to the vulvodynia). Going without underwear helps, as well as wearing skirts. I can only stand shorts or pants for a short period of time and jeans are completely out of the question for me. Hope this helps someone. Vulvodynia is a horrible disorder and I've suffered a great deal.
