To avoid tearing a meniscus:

  • Wear appropriate footwear for your sport and playing surface.
  • Strengthen and stretch the leg muscles, including:
    • Hamstrings
    • Quadriceps
    • Calf muscles
  • Learn the techniques to properly cut, pivot, slow down, and land from a jump.
