Hair Loss: Is This In Your Family?

Joyce recalls if anyone else in her family has experienced hair loss.

Joyce:
To my knowledge I don’t have any particular family history of any abnormal hair loss because everybody loses hair in small amount each day, I suppose, but nothing that sticks out that I know of anybody that had abnormal hair loss.

My father had very lush, thick hair, so did my grandfather. My mother’s hair was always thinner than mine, but she and I have very, very different physical make-ups.

My physical make up is much more like my father so I relate to the fact that he had thick hair with a lot of body in it is my recollection.

I have not talked with anybody in the family about my hair loss. My sister and I actually just, she does not live in the state, but we just recently spent some time together when she came to visit and no particular hair loss there that I am aware of or could observe in her at all, nor did she happen to notice mine.

She has always been very envious of my hair. Her hair has gray to be a different color and she doesn’t like it. So we did talk about my hair because she is very, she has always been very envious of my hair.

She loves the color of it, but it wouldn’t look good on her because her skin tones are different than mine so even though she admires my hair, she has the hair she has and I have the hair I have for a reason. They look better on us.
