Dr. DiCampli explains if women experience more pain during a home birth.

Dr. DiCampli:
In labor there is a degree of pain associated and it’s a necessary pain because it is the process of the uterus contracting and expanding, cervix expands and things have to happen in order to get the baby out so there is pain. The pain is manageable. Everyone’s pain level is different. In a home birth setting there are not any drugs for pain but there are natural things that you can do to help get through the pain and they vary from homeopathy to herbs to hydrotherapy and there’s a lot of support. So there’s options. It’s not drug options though.
