Dona explains why she had a hysterectomy.
Dona:
I had fibers, large fibers, tumors in my womb and was having severe bleeding, and the doctor said, "We’ve got to do this. You’re just going to get completely run down." And they had to do it abdominally because of the size of the fibers, tumors, but at the time I was in my early 40s and they thought well, maybe the hormone situation, that they would leave the ovaries, but in fact they put me on Premarin because I did not have enough hormones anyway.
Now I am sure that at the time they would have removed them because I was through having children. I had had my children by then.
