Dr. Goldstein:
So birth control pills actually do cause sexual pain. Most gynecologists don’t know that. Typically, birth control pills will cause pain upon penetration. This is usually slow on onset, so gradually women will say that they have lost the ability to lubricate and that over time penetration will become much more painful and that’s the result of lower estrogen and testosterone caused by birth control pills.
