Terry explains if she is satisfied with Dr. McLucas, the doctor who performed her uterine artery embolization to remove uterine fibroids.

Terry:
Dr. McLucas cares about women’s issues so much and a lot of doctors pass them off as nothing. And, I don’t even mean it as a disrespect, but I never met another man who cared so much about women’s issues because fibroids are often, not tossed aside, but people don’t care about them. They think that they are just, you know, because they are non-cancerous tumors that you just have to deal with the pain. “You are a woman. You can handle it.”

But Dr. McLucas answers my emails in about one minute he calls me from all over the world if I have a question or a problem or an emergency. He has been with me through every step of my pregnancy and even trying to get pregnant, he was right there with me every step of the way, like he was, and I genuinely believe this as well, like he wanted me to be able, well, not just me, my husband and I, to have a baby.

He shared my dream with me and I have to tell you, it’s like he helped me create that miracle, you know? You can live your life and, you know, encounter wonderful people, but he has really been like a mentor to me. And he has always made me feel like everything was okay, up until the last minute, up until I was in the operating room in my c-section.

He was always trying to make me feel better, and he doesn’t sugarcoat anything, and he tells you all the statistics, and he informs you about all the risks, but there’s never anything that he has said that was medically good for me that wasn’t good for me and so, he has always looked out for my best interest and I really appreciate that, and that’s one of the reasons I have a baby girl. The other reason is, I have my husband to thank.
