People are turning to the internet for information on health. Well, look -- you're here for this very reason. The internet has become a part of health care life. The wise doctor will accept this and proceed accordingly. And the secure doctor will see that the web is not a replacement for doctors, but rather that it adds an extra dimension to our ability to take care of ourselves.

Barbara Ficarra, creator and host of the Health in 30® radio show, and editor-in-chief of Healthin30.com, says, "It’s important for doctors, nurses and other health professionals to understand that Google, social media sites, health news and information sites and online patient community sites will not replace them. It’s simply a tool that offers additional information, and it allows the conversation to get started between health provider and patient. Doctors, nurses and other health providers need to engage in the internet and social media platforms to help educate the health consumer."

Their articles are not a substitute for medical advice, although we hope you can gain knowledge from their insight.
