I am so sorry to hear about your vulvodynia - it is an absolutely horrible condition. I wanted to share my story because I actually found the cause of my vulvodynia. After a year of being mis-diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis and yeast infections, I found that I had pinworms. Doctors don't think of pinworms in adults because pin worms usually infect children (although they are very common - 10% of the US population has pinworms at any given time). In addition to physically seeing the worms after looking for them, I also got blood tests back indicating elevated eosinophils (also known as "itch cells".) A top cause of elevated eosonophils is...parasitic infection! I was treated for pin worms. It took about 6 months for my skin and nerves to recover, but I am now free of vulvodynia. This is an embarassing story, but if it helps even one person, it is well worth it!
