Have just had Mirena removed after much soul searching. Had it for almost 5 years and periods all but stopped over time-(actually miss the reassurance of a period telling me I as not pregnant). Breasts have become lumpy and often very tender but now I forget what is "normal" and a worried about an area of tissue that is especially nodular and lumpy (hard). My doctor removed Mirena but could not comment on it being related to breast lumps and could not examine breasts as we have to go to specialist via GO referral these days just to get a clinical exam. Now I have to wait for an appointment and stress about this lump. Glad mirena is gone though. Sticking to condoms from now on and will be VERY good about using them as do not want more kids. While on Mirena had ovarian cysts that caused aches lower abdomen- hope my period comes back as I don't feel normal any more (42 yrs old)
