I really appreciate your post!! I'll check out the sites you've kindly listed. I've been a single parent now for nearly a year, and it has been quite a period of adjustment for me and for my kids. I'd heard that I should expect to lose some friends, or at least not to hear from them as much, post-divorce. But, it was still a bit of a shock when some "good" friends of mine who are married, and not necessarily friends of my ex-husband, suddenly disappeared from the scene. As if divorce is contagious or something. Or maybe they felt they could no longer relate to me. I don't know.
Anyway, the amazing blessing that has come out of shifting from being a stay-at-home mom to working outside the home full-time, is the strong support system I have at work. I truly consider my colleagues as my extended family, and I can't imagine not being able to see them and work with them nearly every day. The office is definitely where I get my greatest support.
