I've been reading these posts with interest. I am 70 years old and started having bladder infections after being in the hospital and having a catheter for 3 days. It was cleaned only once. I was very very sick. After 3 infections in just a few months, my dr. sent me to a urologist. He diagnosed trigonitis but he didn't explain it very well. I'm not sure I understand the relationship between trigonitis and infection. The last time I went, I had the pain and burning symptoms but no infection. A week later I came up with a terrible infection. Can someone explain "treatments" and cauterizing the bladder and these other terms? I'm just afraid trigonitis is a precursor to cancer.
