Trigonitis is very confusing to understand, so you are not alone! Let us see if we can find some information for you.
I will do some research, but what I have found is that "trigonitis" may be a term that has many synonyms and/or similarities to other conditions. I am not sure if your doctor said anything about Interstitial Cystitis, but here is some information on IC (with a synonym of "trigonitis"): Interstitial Cystitis.
One other site did mention trigonitis as a separate condition, and I will ask one of our medical experts to clear up the confusion for us, so we can understand if IC and Trigonitis are the same or different; help us understand what causes trigonitis, its association with infection as well as if it can be a precursor to cancer, and what treatment options are available.
In the meantime, can you tell us more what your doctor said about your treatment options? Is your doctor a specialist (and, if so, in what area?).

We'll be back soon with more information.
