I started with a urinary tract infection, doctors gave me several courses of antibiotics, the urine samples showed no infection, but i still have the symptoms of cystitis.
I went to several urologist, one said I had IC, I did not agree with this, I then went to another uroligist who diagnosed me with ascending urethral trigonitis. I have have been suffering for 10 years, sometimes the symptoms fell better, and sometimes worse. I usually always have the feeling of urgency and sometimes burning after urination. I have been doing some research on Pelvic floor disfunction, and now the specialist feel that this may the cause of the trigonitis which show the same symptoms of IC. I have been taking 2mg gram of valium, magnesium and half tablet 5mg of endep, which is helping, antibiotics will not help at all, all it does it gives you severe thrush which makes the trigonitis symptoms worse, unbearable.
Please check if you have pelvic floor disfunction as this causes symtoms of IC as well as trignonitis.
I am now being refered to a physiotherapist who will be able to help me, firstly testing will be done to check to pelvic floor mucles and there is simple therapy to help relieve the problem.
I hope this will help someone, as i have been suffering for 10 years and every specialist i have been to keeps putting me on different antibiotics for months at a time. I even had a historectomy due to this, they thought it would help eleviate the problem, but it didn't.
