Hey--Anonymous replier,,,,,,
I am 57 years of age. Had a hyst. back in 1986--have my ovaries but to tell you the truth.....I think they just die without the uterus. I have had NOOOO hormone replacement since 1986. Dont get me wrong, I have been told I need them but I do mammograms for a living and would never take them. Bio hormones are different--soy based, and I read one Dr. said he had only had one patient in 20 years who had had breast CA which beats the odds of EVERYTHING because one in 8 women get breast CA nowadays. Soooooo....if anything.....bio hormones are helping a whole lot.
Anyway, after the first pellets were inserted, I had almost immediate gratification in that my every day migraines ceased after the fourth day, energy out the roof, moodiness vanished, focus was spot on, dry skin went away, but the libido was still not there which was disappointing because I went to my second insertion appt. in June and I still had no libido. Let me just say that I had NOOOO hormones of any kind on my lab results and my FSH was skyrocketed. The Dr. said my brain was screaming for help which made me happy that I was not going crazy or going to die---that is how bad I was. I had no labwork prior to second insertion and still did well with a lot of T and 50 E--not sure right now of my numbers, but two weeks prior to my third insertion appt. (still had no labwork ordered), I was feeling a few of my symptoms come back...that is the depression, anxiety, no libido and irritability, and dry skin, but I just thought the insertion would help me. Also two weeks prior to insertion, I noticed a lot of hair coming out every day in my brush and never ran my fingers through my hair that hair did not come out so I mentioned this to this Dr. and he said he would lower the T to 87.5 mg and my E to 25mg. Well, the next two weeks were hell, every day getting worse and worse---did not even want to leave the house---so unhappy and anxiety ridden so I called them because on the second week after insertion I also got acne in and around everywhere--back of arms, thighs, face, breasts and still have that. They just had me get blood work again and wrote me a prescription for doxycycline for 10 days. I am on my 6th day and it is not helping. They called and said that my lab results showed I was low on E and my T was low but none of this was enough to warrant my symptoms that I had been having. They made me an appt. to come back in on this next Saturday to talk to the Dr. and possibly get re-inserted...... Mind you, I was just inserted last month. I think you cannot just estimate how much one person to the next needs in hormones---especially the first year---because you do not know how much one person does to use up hormones, stress level etc. compared to the general population. So I am going to ask for hi to order a blood test every time in the future because the insertion is not pleasant and this month has been horrid. Oh yes, after I told the doc on the third visit in sept. about my hair loss, he said to take biotin and saw palmetto daily ----duh. Well, that is not helping. so I'm down, but not to the point I am giving up because I had the best 6 months of last 15 years on these hormones, it just went away. Renee'
