I agree that it's mostly up to parents to provide healthy food for kids. When I was a child, McDonalds was a once a year treat and I remember thinking that it was only ok. My mother always prepared fun, healthy and interesting meals.
The fast food industry only has power if we let it.
Also, if you don't have a cable or satellite at home and just watch netflix, basically choosing to ommit commercial advertising from your life, the influence is not so much there.
I haven't watched TV for many years now and love not having that negative influence in my life.
Drastic for some, perhaps.....?
