I have wonderful news to report after my VL surgery. It is gone,gone,Gone!! I am delighted by the outcome. I wish I had done it much earlier. I do have a small scar inside the lip and when I am nervous I start biting it (that caused the ugly thing in the first place). I have stopped doing that and have absolutely no trouble with it. I would encourage anyone to go ahead with the procedure providing the oral surgeon has done them before. And please be sure to keep ice on it however long they advise even if it does not hurt. Then you won't have to hid away like me. Thanks for the kind words Christine.
