Reading your story is stunning. I think we all wonder how we will cope if and when we learn we have cancer, of any type. We wonder if we will be strong enough, if we will fight hard enough, if we will be too sick, if the therapy will be successful, if we will make the right decisions.
Your story is a testament to everything that has brought you this far: A doctor that is fighting as hard as the patient; open minds toward new and possible treatment; family support; and a patient who hangs in there, no matter what, hoping and trying.
All of that is very inspiring. You will no doubt help many people who read your post who are going through something similar. Were there times when you wanted to give up? How did you keep going through the toughest stages?
I'm so happy you've been a survivor for 10 years (with no end in sight!) Congratulations on that new grandbaby!!!
