I have had panic/anxiety attacks in the past. I think the best thing that helped me was seeing a doctor and actually having someone tell me what my body was doing and why it was doing this. I was given a low dose blood pressure medication as well as lexapro. Although, I am not trying to persuade anyone into NOT taking their medication, but I refused to take the medication. I had and have ALWAYS believe that medication was a crutch and if everyone has some amount to stress in there life and they weren't on medication, then neither would I be on medication. I more or less just got fed up with always being tired and scared to the point that I would make myself have an anxiety attack. I believe that anxiety is a sickness that you yourself create. It is VERY real and VERY scary and most certainly nothing to play with, but if you can wake up every morning and have some kind of positive attitude and talk yourself out of the fear that is causing anxiety and accept the attacks when they come with a positive attitude you will find them much more manageable. In my case I had to look at myself from a different perspective and actually see how unhappy I was with.... everything. I found myself surrounded by a thick fog and I couldn't seem to get out. I was thinking more of quick lets get through this I dont have time to have anxiety that I was to busy thinking about hurrying and not making the appropriate changes to actually do something about it. The best way for me to explain is that I had to to get mad at anxiety and refuse to let that take control of MY life. You have to retrain your brain to accept the things you cannot control and the things you can control, make a change. I believe that life is all about feeling comfortable in your own skin and being HAPPY with yourself. My advice is to stand strong, think positivly and take your life back. Since I have changed my outlook on life and society I have been panic free for a year and a half and I refuse to let anxiety take control of MY life! hopefully this will help to inspire everyone that has had anxiety or a panic disorder. Never give up on yourself because YOU are worth it!
