I am a night shift worker and have been for 3 years. Before I started this work everything about my hormonal balance, cholesterol, blood pressure was normal...in the past year without a change of diet I've gained almost 60 pounds, my blood pressure is bordering on high, cholesterol was "off the scale" but is now dropping, and I am definitely in the pre-diabetic type 2 group. This article was an "a-ha" moment for me because I've been trying to figure out where the h*ll I'd gone wrong...now I know it's the shift I work. Unfortunately, I can't change that for a long time yet...though if the economy keeps going the way it is, that decision will be made for me! Thanks for the great information!
