I had my left thyroid removed on May 1, 2012 and the first four weeks were pure hell. I just knew something was going haywire in my body. I was mostly having panic attacks and couldn't sleep but felt tired all the time. It has now been 7 weeks and panic attacks are gone but still not sleeping great. My thyroid function test came back normal so no medicine for me. The major thing I am concerned about which no one has mentioned is my voice. I am still hoarse a lot of the times. When I went to my doctor he said my vocal chords weren't moving as they should but he didn't seem to concerned and just told me to come back in another six weeks. Has anyone experienced difficulty with their voice after thyroid surgery?
