I have to agree with Anon's posting. There is plenty of medical evidence now that links comsuption of carbonated drinks to osteoporosis. Here are three ways of how carbonation makes bones weak and brittle:
1. Carbonation reduces the calcium in the bones.
2. Phosphoric acid reduces the calcium in the bones.
3. The beverage replaces a calcium-containing alternative, such as milk or water. Milk and water are not excellent calcium sources, but they are sources.
Kristin, YES, you can boil apples. They make a delicious drink. Bring 5-6 apples to boil in a large pot. Add a stick or two of cinnamon. Bring to a boil for about an hour. Let it cool. You can drink the juice and eat the apples as a healthy dessert.
Other natural juices can be made from pineapple, fresh cranberries, etc
