Hi! I began taking Alesse birth control pills around the end of April. I am usually slightly irregular, and in May I began my period around the beginning of the fourth week. It was definitely less painful and there was less blood, and I also lasted around 5 days (without bc my period lasts 7-8 days). In June I went on a two week trip out of the country, and the maids accidentally threw away my bc pills! Two days later I was able to get Lessina, apparently the same thing as Alesse, just a different brand (so my doctor said...). I took two pills, and the next day (or the day after, I can't remember), I began my period. That gave me around a 21-day cycle, which very much shocked me, since I was planning it a week later. During the first day, I spotted a bit, but THIS period lasted eight days with heavy bleeding, each day getting worse. (Without birth control, my first day was always the heaviest, and I have never spotted in the past.)
I took almost two weeks worth of pills of Lessina while on the trip, and when I got back home my packet had reached the last day, so I bought my regular prescription, Alesse. I go by the 28-day cycle, and I am 4 or 5 days late. I had sex around 4 days after taking my regular Alesse prescription again. I took a pregnancy test yesterday and got back negative. I am very worried and would like to understand what's happening to me.
I was wondering if I could now be pregnant from this whole mess.
