Hi, Anon, and thanks so much for your question.

Our hormones can be affected by a lot of different things. Have you been under a lot of stress lately? Has something changed in your life (like eating habits, activity levels, a change in medicine, etc)?

It's our hormones that tell our body when to ovulate and then when to menstruate, and if they get a little out of whack for any reason, we can have a period early, have it late, or even skip one. It sounds like that's what is happening to you. It's nothing to worry about, it happens to all of us sometimes.

You might go back to being regular right away, or it could be a month or two before it gets settled out. If you are under stress right now, because of school, or family, or friends/boyfriends, focus on getting that a little more under control. But overall, don't fret too much. It wouldn't be worrisome unless perhaps you skipped two or three periods -- which can happen sometimes when someone is extremely thin or is extremely active in sports, for instance.

Does that help a little?
