Sounds like just an early period, which I know is strange when it happens, but it can be fairly common...just like a late period can happen for no apparent reason.

Your first period was August 18th (lasted 5 days), and then this period began September 3rd (and today is 6th, and you are still bleeding). As you said, it is too early for any type of miscarriage or implantation bleeding; it takes 10-14 days from the time of ovulation (release of egg) to fertilization to implantation...about the time of an expected period.

Implantation bleeding should actually be called implantation "spotting"; it goes unnoticed by many women and is not anything like the flow of a period.

Periods can range in color from dark brown to bright red, and these are all normal.

Don't hesitate to call your doctor's office, if you are still concerned about two periods within a few weeks of each other; they may want to know when your next period begins. Again, it is common but they can also rule out any medical conditions if necessary (if you continue having future periods within weeks of each other, as this could be considered abnormal bleeding if it continues).

Are you and your fiance trying to conceive? When was the last time you went to the doctor for an annual check up? Some doctors like to see women before they try to conceive, and you may want to call your doctor to ask.
