There are many reasons that women experience "breakthrough bleeding" (any type of bleeding that occurs in-between periods), including just an irregular cycle, new medication, birth control, underlying medical condition, stress, etc.
- Are you using any type of hormonal contraceptive (pill, vaginal ring, etc)?
- Is there any pain associated with your period or the breakthrough bleeding?
