AZDesertRat, thanks for your reply, sorry I was not quicker to respond. Your dosage seems appropriate for a first try of Synthroid, if your symptoms have not improved, then I really think a follow up visit with your doctor is timely. Ask him for progesterone test levels too. You may be facing perimenopause symptoms which cause changes on hormones.
I would also suggest limiting the following foods as they are known as goitrogens and supress thyroid function. These include: broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, soy and brussel sprouts. Never drink tap water as it contains fluorine and chlorine, two chemicals known to inhibit the ability to absorb iodine. Keep me posted!
