Chrissy, I too am amazed at your patience! Especially since by my count you'd be on Day 42, and if you wait another week, you'll be close to day 50. (Two complete normal cycles would just be 56 days).
The only reason you'd want to find out sooner is so that if you are pregnant, you can get started on prenatal care as soon as possible. And yes, your doctor will prescribe prenatal vitamins, which help the developing baby. When you are pregnant, you need more nutrients, and the baby needs such things as iron, calcium and folic acid in his or her development. Here's a good page on prenatal vitamins:
