I have been eyeing the swimming pool at our gym for a while now. Like you, I love the feeling of being surrounded by water. I'm not a great swimmer, but I'm good enough that I think I'd enjoy lap swimming.
I've also noticed a water aerobics class that looks fun and interesting, where participants do their exercises in the water, even with buoyant resistance "weights" to strengthen arm muscles.
Do you swim for a particular amount of time, or a particular number of laps? When you began, how long did you swim? And are swimming caps mandatory? (They give me a headache!)
I think you've just talked me into the shallow end.....
