Dear Anon, I am also sorry to read about your problem. Anxiety or panic attacks can be pretty scarry but more and more research shows that they are controllable not just with supplements like vitamin B12 but also with mind over body modalities. I was an anxiety sufferer and later as I became more knowledgeable about this condition I realized I had a lot of more control over the episodes than I was made to believe. Today I can say that I am free from that burden even in the midst of great stress in my life.

You have taken the first step to trying to understand what triggers your attacks. A great thing about being "human" is the ability to step back and observe ourselves. So, for starters, you need to get a journal
and as soon as you start feeling anxy, step back, observe yourself and start deep breathing exercises. This helps the parasympathetic nervous system to send "calming" signals to your brain. Deep breathing will also help reduce the heart palpitations symptom which is very common during panic/anxiety attacks. It is very important to stop any thought during that time and focus only on your breathing. Five breaths in, five breaths out. Do this for 5 minutes. Once the attack is under control, make an entry on your journal and write down what was going on during the preceeding 4-5 hours in your life. It is very important that you do that. Eventually you will identify the trigger. It may be your boss, driving on heavy traffic, etc.

I also suggest you stay away from caffeine, SUGAR (notice capital letters), nicotine and alcohol. Consider adding to your diet foods rich in magnesium and calcium (supplements are the alternative). Eat healthy and stay away from foods that cause allergic reaction such as gluten found on wheat products. Other supplements that can help: GABA, 5-HTP and Rhodiola. There is also a great homeophatic remedy that I carry with me everywhere, it is called Rescue Remedy by Dr Bach. I have a little spray in my purse. It has come handy many times.

Wish you well.
