Have you talked with your gynecologist about your possibilities of having your eggs harvested (or other medical procedure to allow you to try to conceive).
It is possible for doctors to test the "quality" of your eggs, and there are some medications that can help, too. While it is true that your odds of having a baby with genetic complications (including downs syndrome, as well as others) increases dramatically with age, it does not mean it is inevitable. There are many screening tests and diagnostic tests available, and it is important to talk with your OB/GYN about your concerns, as well as any relevant family history of medical conditions.
I am curious, however, that you say your new husband wants a baby, but you don't say if YOU want a baby?
